Creating Calm for Mother's Day with Organization Pro Lisa Jacobs

Lisa Jacobs (IG: @imagine.it.done, TikTok: @imagineitdone) knows what it feels like to come home to chaos. As a mother of three and the founder and CEO of Imagine it Done, Jacobs has spent the last two decades working in hundreds of homes in NYC and across the tristate area, and keeping her own busy home in order. To this day she is guided by one belief: an organized space is an organized mind is an organized life.

Raising two sons and a daughter meant constantly balancing schedules, school work, sports, and plenty of unexpected chaos. In that environment organization became about much more than tidiness—it became a way to reduce stress, ease mental overload, and create a home that supports daily life.

"Children raised in an organized home learn structure, responsibility, and independence through simple everyday habits," Jacobs said. "I am proud to see those lessons reflected in the way my three children live today."

For mothers who feel overwhelmed and don't know where to start, Lisa suggests looking to the space that depletes them the most—usually the entryway or mudroom, where clutter multiplies fastest.

This Mother's Day instead of breakfast in bed, consider cleaning out a drawer or corner that is also stressing the mom in your life out. For more ideas checkout Yamazaki Home Mother's Day Gift Guide!

"An organized home is not about perfection," Lisa says. "It is about creating systems that support motherhood instead of overwhelming it." After working in hundreds of homes, she says the most overlooked space is almost always the garage.

Yamazaki Home's purposeful design and real understanding of how people live, especially in smaller spaces, is what drew Lisa in. "Every product feels intentional, solving a real everyday need in a way that is both functional and beautiful," she says. "Function comes first, then beauty. That's my philosophy too."
