Wah Wu’s content feels like a deep breath. From his serene cooking videos to his calming camping trips, he has a unique talent for finding beauty in the everyday.

It’s an approach to living that’s all about intentionality—choosing to create a peaceful, grounding atmosphere wherever you are. This philosophy is a perfect match for us here at Yamazaki Home. We recently sat down with Wah to chat about how he cultivates his peaceful aesthetic, his furry friends Olive and Sesame, and how our products help him maintain a sense of simplicity and function in his home.

The Art of Finding Inspiration

For Wah, inspiration comes from the small, "mundane" moments of daily life. He’s drawn to the challenge of showing a different point of view, even if it means getting sidetracked by a simple paper towel holder while in the middle of a cooking video. This same spirit of observation and purpose carries over to the way he chooses items for his home, both in Los Angeles and the desert. His core principle? Everything he brings into his space must be both useful and aesthetically pleasing. It’s this balance that defines his calming visual style.

Creative Organization with Pets

Wah’s videos wouldn’t be complete without Olive, his rescue dog, and Sesame, his rabbit, who have both become stars in their own right. They’ve taught him a lot about intentional living, especially when it comes to keeping a tidy space.

One of his favorite smart storage solutions for Sesame is the Yamazaki Home Pet Food Bowl Set. The elevated frame creates an open, clean feel, while the weight of the ceramic bowls prevents mischievous flips that leave a mess. "I have it in the white color and it goes really well with Sesame’s feeding area and it’s perfect because I keep her pellets on one side and her vegetables on the other. Rabbits like to flip their bowls a lot so the weight of the ceramic bowls prevents them from being flipped and leaving a mess. The elevated frame also gives an open feel to the area while also making it easy to clean around it. We love it!

Transforming Clutter into Calm

One of the most powerful ways to create a sense of peace is to conquer clutter. Wah points to two specific areas of his home where Yamazaki Home products have made a huge difference, transforming spaces from overwhelming to inviting.

His coffee corner was once a chaotic jumble of tools and mugs. "Now with the Countertop Drawer," he explains, "I can place the espresso machine on top and all my mugs and tools in the drawer when I’m not using them so it keeps the space clean while staying organized."

The narrow rear entrance of his home also presented a challenge. "It was overwhelming coming back home to the clutter," Wah recalls. The Expandable Shoe Rack from the Yamazaki Home collaboration with The Strategist turned out to be the ideal creative organization solution, helping him keep his footwear organized, elevated, and clutter-free.

Wah always has eyes out for simple, useful solutions. He said, “I think Yamazaki Home products have this simplicity that attracts the eye by setting a clean canvas. By doing so it really lets you focus on the items you choose to pair it with. Having most of the products either white or black lets anyone put their own personality into the space depending on their mood, which I love!”

Wah Wu reminds us that a truly peaceful home isn't about having a specific look, but about a deliberate way of living. It's about choosing items that serve a purpose while also bringing joy, allowing you to create a canvas of simplicity on which your own personality can shine.
