Introducing Apto: Accessible Design for Better Living

Yamazaki Home has been designing thoughtful home goods rooted in Japanese philosophy for years. Now, we're introducing something new—Apto, a New York–based houseware brand that takes that same commitment to beautiful, functional design and interprets it through a contemporary lens.

Apto was built on a simple belief: great design shouldn't be a luxury. Whether you're furnishing your first apartment or refreshing a space you've lived in for years, your home deserves objects that work beautifully and look even better doing it.

While Yamazaki Home draws deeply from Japanese minimalism, Apto speaks a different design language—one shaped by the rhythms of American life. It's globally minded, but grounded in the everyday details of modern life.

Discover Launch 01

The first Apto collection features five debut pieces, each designed to solve a real problem without sacrificing style. Here's a closer look.

Obround Shoe Rack

Winner of Apartment Therapy's Best in Show at Shoppe Object 2026

$195

An award-winning entryway upgrade that keeps shoes organized and on display. Clean enough for a studio, sturdy enough for a family—this is the piece that earned Apto its first major recognition before the brand even launched.

Tidy Magnet Set

$48

Elevate your refrigerator from utilitarian appliance to curated display. The Tidy Magnet Set is designed to hold postcards, invitations, and photos in a way that actually looks intentional. Your fridge has never deserved this much credit.

Contour Side Table

$345

A curved accent table designed to work beside your sofa or bed without disappearing into the background. The extra-tall bottom shelf fits a speaker, a vase, a lamp, or a stack of books. The gap in the back allows you to effortlessly charge devices—generous in function, striking in form.

Sloped Utensil Holder

$54

A countertop piece that makes every cooking tool easy to see and grab. The signature sloped bottom isn't just aesthetic, it gives your utensils instant visibility. Designed beautifully enough that it earns its place on any kitchen counter.

Wave Coaster Set

$48

Some surfaces deserve protecting. The Wave Coaster Set is for your stemware, your heirlooms, and your good furniture. A refined set that signals you take the spaces you live in seriously—without taking yourself too seriously.

Design Rooted in Real Life

Every piece in the first collection was designed to solve a specific friction point in modern American homes: cluttered entryway, the chaotic utensil drawer, the over-crowded refrigerator door.

Apto approaches these moments with the same rigor Yamazaki Home has always brought to product design, filtered through the tastes and needs of a new audience.

The result is a collection that fits into real homes without looking like it tried too hard. Objects that blend into your daily routine while quietly making it better.

Where to Find Apto

Apto's official website launches today, April 2nd. Products will be available online after the launch, with more collections to follow throughout the year. We are excited to embark on this next chapter with you, the Yamazaki Home family.
