Discover how a shoe rack, toothbrush holder, and countertop drawer bring calm, style, and happy home harmony to a small New York City apartment.
It’s essential in any New York apartment to have a good shoe rack. When you see the things that have touched New York City sidewalks, you very quickly become strict about being a “no shoes in the house” home.
The Tower Shoe Rack is a pretty essential part of me and my roommate’s day! We keep our most worn shoes there, and it’s a great way to create a little entryway space in a tiny apartment.
My roommate and I both wanted to make this apartment feel like our first adult apartment, and so having a shoe rack that was aesthetically pleasing made me feel like our space was off to a good start. It was one of the first things we put in our new space.
My style (ironically, given Yamazaki Home’s MO) leans more towards colorful and maximalist naturally. I think it’s helpful for me to have some more minimalist leaning items to balance out my natural inclinations, because it’s definitely easy for me to go overboard and do too much.
Funny enough, my roommate already had the Countertop Drawer before I began working at Yamazaki Home! We’ve since relocated it to the top of the fridge to be less obtrusive.
Again, speaking to the size of our apartment, our kitchen is pretty small so the countertop drawer is much needed extra space for utensils.
The Toothbrush Stand is also a small but mighty super star. Our bathroom has no counterspace, so we needed something that could fit perfectly behind the sink.
