Some brands of mosquito coils come in a metal can that stores the coils on the bottom and the lid acts as a flame-retardant holder for a lit coil. These are safe to both store and use the coils together. If not, we recommend using the holder to either store coils; or to place a flame-retardant holder inside when a lit coil is in use. If a lit coil is placed directly inside the holder without sufficient heat protection, there is risk of the metal overheating.

If burning coils in the holder, we recommend first placing the lit coil in a flame-retardant coil holder.
